As the Hispanic/Latino (the terms Hispanic and Latino are used interchangeably on this site) population in the U.S. has grown and opportunities have expanded, students from these groups have dramatically increased their enrollment in higher education. This Web site and blog -- established with the support of the U.S. Department of Education -- were designed to encourage even more Latinos to participate in college.Through Latino College Pathways, students and their parents and other family members can find links to English- and Spanish-language Web sites with information on various topics related to access and participation in higher education. The goal of Latino College Pathways is to become a major resource for guidance about the college-going experience.
The Latino College Pathways team consists of individuals with considerable higher education experience at a variety of colleges, universities and organizations. We believe we are unbiased in that we don’t favor one institution over another*. Instead, we are passionate about assisting you any way we can to encourage you to attend college and succeed in your studies.
What’s different about the Latino College Pathways team? Not only do we put you in touch with materials you can read on your own to become better informed about the college-going process, we also are here to answer your individual questions about anything related to college. We hope you will let us share your questions and our answers with others when appropriate. After all, if you have a question about something related to college attendance, others probably have the same concerns. So, please ask us. Let’s begin a dialogue! No sólo te ponemos en contacto con materiales que puedes leer para informarte mejor sobre el proceso, sino que también estamos aquí para contestar tus preguntas individuales sobre cualquier cosa relacionada al proceso de entrada a una universidad. Esperamos que nos permitas compartir tus preguntas y nuestras respuestas con otras personas si tal acción es apropiada.
